Allen Meek Medical Director, Provision Center for Proton Therapy

Dr. Allen Meek came to Knoxville from Long Island, New York where he was the Founding Chairman of the Department of Radiation Oncology at Stony Brook University Medical School and a Professor for over 28 years. Prior to that, he spent 11 years at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, MD completing medical school, residencies in Internal Medicine and Radiation Oncology and a fellowship in Medical Oncology. A Navy veteran, Dr. Meek also served as board member and officer of several non-profit organizations on Long Island. While in New York, Dr. Meek received numerous awards, including Top Doctors in New York and Best Doctors in the USA, along with awards for Humanitarianism and Environmental Stewardship. Also, he was just recently recognized as a 2012 U.S. News and World Report “Top Doctor”. He has a passion for excellence in delivering patient care and for developing new procedures to improve that care. A native New Englander, he and his wife are thrilled about settling in Eastern Tennessee, building a home in Sevierville and their six children are looking forward very much to visiting. Dr. Meek is an active gardener, beekeeper (yes, he “robs” the bees) and enjoys playing tennis and hiking.

Scott Warwick Vice President, Provision Center for Proton Therapy

Scott Warwick is a Knoxville native and a graduate of the University of Tennessee and the Vanderbilt University Medical Center School of Allied Health.  He has more than 16 years of comprehensive cancer center management and development experience.  Scott begin his work in oncology as a clinician working as a Medical Dosimetrist which has allowed him to understand the many different complexities of delivering quality cancer care.  Most recently Scott has been integrally involved with the development and management of many of the health care entities on the Provision Health Alliance campus including the Provision Center for Proton Therapy opening in January of 2014, Provision Radiation Therapy, the Center for Biomedical Research and the Provision Healthcare Foundation.  He currently serves on the board of the local American Cancer Society, the Compassion in Action Fund, Harvest Field Ministries, and is significantly involved with medical missions in Southwest Haiti.

Nan Chen Clinical Researcher, Provision Center for Biomedical Research

Originally from China, Nan Chen received her B.S. in Chemistry and Molecular Engineering from Peking University, and her Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She supports the pre-clinical and clinical research at the Provision Center for Biomedical Research.  Meanwhile, as a visiting scientist, she participates the research and development of targeted nuclear medicine for cancer treatment at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. 

Casey Peer Managing Director and Chief Dietitian, Provision Health & Performance

With nearly 20 years of experience, Casey is passionate about educating and motivating Provision Health & Performance members as Chief Dietitian and Director of Program Development. She received her Bachelor of Science in nutrition and Master of Science in clinical nutrition from East Tennessee State University. Prior to joining Provision, Casey owned and operated a nutritional consulting company that worked with long-term care facilities, home health agencies, hospitals, group homes and fitness centers for more than 15 years. Her philosophy: balance and moderation are the keys to a healthy life. A workout enthusiast who enjoys hiking and running, Casey has two children, Drake and Ava. Click here to access Casey's Blog
